Love watching porn? You might be in for a nasty shock if you’re watching it on your BlackBerry Z10. Read on to know how...
BlackBerry managed to revive revenues with their newly launched BlackBerry Z10 smartphone based on the BlackBerry 10 platform. While the BlackBerry Z10 sure came with some amazing features and technologies, there are still many being added to BlackBerry’s app store.
Though utility apps have been welcomed with open arms, there’s a newly launched app that might end up embarrassing the user more than serving any real purpose.
BlackBerry recently launched a ‘Show What I’m Listening to’ feature for their devices in a bid to increase engagement and social networking among users. The app updates the user’s list with tracks recently listened to or viewed content. The app works just like YouTube where users can share their funny/interesting videos and media files and share them with an audience.
However, in what turned out to be an embarrassing twist, some users who viewed porn on their phones accidently ended up informing their friends about their virtual adventures. The ‘Show What I’m Listening to’ feature sent out notifications to porn viewers’ friends with clips of what was being watched!
Clearly a case of a goof-up where just like a million other social networks, the privacy settings failed to work. However, while the accidental sharing wouldn’t have had any long-lasting impact other than embarrassment, it might be a major hindrance.
According to a report by ANI, a user named Sosof, posted a screenshot of his pal viewing an adult site, on the Crackberry web forum. Another user, Gbolhajo added that this had happened a lot of times to his contacts as well.
BlackBerry clarified that the feature would have to be manually activated to avail benefits. However, according to affected users, they never accessed the feature and it activated itself.
Might sound funny but you might be at the receiving end too if you’re a BlackBerry user. Beware of using your phone to view porn henceforth!
