Samsung unveiled the Samsung Galaxy S4 in India just yesterday. Coming close on the heels of the launch is the unveiling of another variant of the phone. Samsung unveiled the Samsung Galaxy S4 dual-SIM variant in China.
The phone was rumoured to be launched in a Dual-SIM version long back with speculations on the base device being dual-core. However, the launch of the phone with an 8-core processor and a single SIM slot effectively put rumours to rest. However, there were whisperings of added variants of the Samsung Galaxy S4 like the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini, Samsung Galaxy Dual-SIM phone, Samsung Galaxy S4 water-proof variant, etc.
While Samsung confirmed the dual-SIM variant in China, it is still unclear whether the dual-SIM Samsung Galaxy S4 might be released in other markets. We’re hopeful of Samsung extending the phone to India as Samsung has often launched Dual-SIM variants of Samsung phones in India. Not only is India a big market for the devices but a Samsung Galaxy S4 in a dual-SIM variant will be snapped up in the market.
We often see people in India carrying two phones: one high-end, premium model and the other a basic phone. Releasing the Samsung Galaxy S4 dual-SIM in India might be a good move, as people will then ditch the cheaper base models for one premium phone. Samsung already has a huge fan-base in the country and the move will only endear the South Korean phone-maker further.
The features and specifications of the dual-SIM version are the same as the normal Samsung Galaxy S4. The device was officially announced on Friday and is already listed on Samsung China’s site.
