Samsung Galaxy SII Plus, which comes with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean pre-installed, is now available in the market for Rs 22,900. Ironically, the older Samsung Galaxy SII is still available in the market for Rs 23,500.
Despite the lower price, the new Samsung Galaxy SII Plus comes with even better features than its older sibling. For instance, it has Android 4.1 Jelly Bean pre-installed; the older handset though is upgradable to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.
Also, Samsung Galaxy SII Plus has 64 GB external memory against 32 GB of the SII. In the new handset, a new chipset made by Broadcom has been fitted while the older Galaxy SII has Samsungmade Exynos processor. However like the older handset, the newGalaxy SII Plus has a dual core processor clocked at 1.2 GHz.
Samsung Galaxy SII Plus also comes with a 4.3-inch Super Amoled Plus WVGA display, 8 megapixel rear camera, 2 megapixel front camera and 1650 mAh battery as the SII. However in the new iteration, company claims that battery back up is slightly better in Samsung Galaxy SII Plus as compared to Galaxy SII.
Like the older Samsung Galaxy SII, the new smartphone has also 3G support for 21 Mbps, Bluetooth 3.0 and WiFi. You also get active noise cancellation and TV Out through MHL (Mobile High-Definition Link) which is an industry standard for a mobile audio/video interface that allows consumers to connect mobile phones to high-definition televisions (HDTVs) and audio receivers. In simple terms it is coverts the common MicroUSB port into into an HDMI port.
The phone is currently available at Infibeam with 7 days shipping time, but it is likely to get available across other sites in coming days. We also expect the price of the Samsung Galaxy SII to fall further in the wake of new Galaxy SII Plus.
